CBC’s Marketplace vitamin supplement Report was retracted after sever errors were found in it’s November broadcast. To see if consumers were actually getting what they were paying for in their vitamin supplements, Marketplace commissioned lab testing for samples of fish oil, vitamin C and protein powder supplements. Based on the lab results, Marketplace reported that Emergen-C and two protein powers: GNC Lean Sahke 25 and Cytosport Muscle Milk did not support the claims made on their labels. Re-testing of the samples later found that the preliminary lab results were inaccurate. There is no substantial evidence of to support issues with those products.
